Unfortunately, pelvic pain can be a sensitive or embarrassing subject for many people affected by it, and these important health issues are often badly under-discussed and misunderstood. Staying active is key to your overall health as well as, for many people with chronic pain, preventing worsening pain and dysfunction. However, if you have pelvic floor weakness, exercises like jogging may be too high impact and cause further problems. Using a cross training or elliptical machine is a great alternative for getting your cardio in without such severe impact on tender muscles and joints.

The difficulties in diagnosing and treating endometriosis mean that many of the patients who see us have spent a long time bouncing between different doctors and specialists without ever getting the right diagnosis or effective care. We love being able to give people the kind of results shared by this patient after her experience with our own Dr. Lora Liu. Chronic pain can be so frustrating, especially when you don't feel like you can find a doctor who will really listen and understand what you're going through. It's always gratifying to give people hope for a better quality of life!

The sensation of pelvic pain can range widely in a number of ways, one of them being the physical location from which pain seems to emanate. Chronic pain could affect the whole pelvic region or be localized at a specific point. Some spots may feel swollen or tender to the touch, or the pain may be more severe in some places than others. All of these are important things to note to your doctor while they are attempting to diagnose the specific cause of your pelvic pain.
