Most families do not realize how quickly things can change for an aging parent. A missed medication, a fall, forgetting to eat, or simply feeling alone day after day can slowly take away the independence they have worked so hard to keep.

At A Better Solution In-Home Care, we believe your loved one deserves to stay safe, happy, and comfortable in the place they love most: home.

We provide everything from companion care and personal care to dementia support, transportation, respite care, care management, and help for veterans and families facing hospice needs.

No long-term contracts. Same-day care available. Free in-home assessment.

If you have been thinking, “Maybe Mom or Dad needs a little more help,” trust that feeling. It is always better to call before there is a crisis.

What a typical caregiver visit looks like
People always ask, “What does a caregiver actually do?”
It’s not just one thing.
One visit might look like:
Making breakfast, helping with a shower, tidying up the kitchen, going for a short walk, and sitting down just to talk for a bit.
That last part matters more than people think.
It’s not just care—it’s consistency, safety, and someone actually being there.

How to talk to a parent about accepting help
This one’s tough. No way around it.
Most parents hear “help” and think “I’m losing my independence.”
That’s not how you want to frame it.
Try this angle instead:
“Hey, I don’t want to take anything away from you… I just want to make sure you’ve got support so you can keep doing things your way.”
Start small.
Maybe it’s just help with meals or a little cleaning.
Once they see it’s not a threat, everything changes.

When is it time to consider home care
A lot of families wait for a fall, a hospital stay, or a real scare before they reach out.
I’ll tell you straight—that’s the hard way to do it.
The better move is bringing in a little help before things get overwhelming.
A few hours a week can take pressure off everyone and keep things stable.
We’ve seen it over and over…
The earlier you start, the longer your loved one stays safe at home.
You don’t have to wait for something bad to happen to make a good decision.

Signs your loved one may need help at home
We had a family call recently… they said, “Nothing major has happened yet, but something just feels off.”
That’s usually how it starts.
Maybe the house isn’t as clean as it used to be.
Maybe meals are getting skipped.
Maybe they’re not getting up and moving like they should.
It’s not one big moment—it’s a bunch of small ones adding up.
The families who do best are the ones who step in early, not when things fall apart.
If you’re starting to notice those changes, even just a gut feeling, it’s worth having a conversation.

Trust is built through consistency, communication, and follow-through.
When care teams collaborate instead of operate in silos: • Clients feel safer
• Families feel supported
• Outcomes improve
That’s the standard we hold ourselves to every day.
If collaboration matters to you, let’s start a conversation.

Every client we serve already has an ecosystem — doctors, specialists, family members, social workers, home health, and more.
Our role isn’t to replace any of them.
Our role is to strengthen the entire system.
When communication is clear and care is coordinated, people stay safer and families feel supported.
If your family needs home care that works with your existing providers, we’re here to help.

Here’s something most people don’t think about:
Nights and weekends are where things usually fall apart.
Not because people don’t care—
But because systems aren’t strong enough during those hours.
If after-hours coverage matters to you (and it should), let’s have a quick conversation about how it’s handled.
