We are excited to announce our second Speaker Series with Dr. Daniel Harrington, PhD, on Tuesday, March 23rd, at 5 PM (CT) via WebEx. Dr. Harrington is a co-founder and the Chief Scientific Officer of Polyvascular and an Assistant Professor at UTHealth School of Dentistry.

Polyvascular’s mission is to transform the care of children with congenital heart disease by manufacturing next-generation heart valves that can be delivered in a minimally-invasive manner. The company was a member of the 2017 medical device startup cohort at TMCx, the premier healthcare startup incubator in Houston, and has won awards at the Texas A&M New Ventures Competition and the SXSW Impact Pediatric Health Startup Pitch Competition. We will be discussing his path through medical innovation and journey of entrepreneurship.

At the conclusion of the session, we will be drawing for 3 chances to win an HIC mask and hat. We hope to see you there!

The 3rd annual Healthcare Innovation Challenge was held virtually on Feb 27th, 2021! 11 interprofessional teams developed a proposal that focused on pandemic recovery and successfully presented their solution to judges. Among many other issues, COVID-19 has exacerbated and further increased readmission rates. If you're interested in solving systemic issues, HIC is the opportunity for you. The deadline to sign up for the Healthcare Innovation Challenge is approaching fast! While registration remains open this week until January 31st, we highly recommend signing up ASAP to secure participation as spots are limited on a first-come, first-served basis. HIC is a great learning and networking opportunity (especially in a time where we are limited in social interaction) with complimentary perks like a free shirt and mask and up to $1,200 cash prizes for winning teams!
