Yesterday was World Alzheimer's Day - a reminder that behind every person with dementia is often an invisible hero: their caregiver.

💙 If you're caring for someone with Alzheimer's or dementia, you're not alone. The statistics are sobering - 40% of caregivers report emotional stress, and 70% experience depression and anxiety.

Your cup isn't empty - it's broken. But it can be repaired.

Here are some crucial steps to start healing:

→ Practice mindfulness - Even 5 minutes of deep breathing can help you stay grounded
→ Set boundaries - Saying "no" isn't selfish, it's survival
→ Prioritize sleep - Your brain needs rest to handle tomorrow's challenges

Remember: You can't pour from an empty cup, and you can't care for others if you don't care for yourself first.

A while back, Jon Kolmetz wrote a blog comparing the discovery of infidelity to a house fire. In his new video series on the topic, he compares day 1 of discovery to a 911 call. See the video for more and subscribe to OCA's new YouTube channel for updates.

In the wrap-up from his Financial Infidelity series, Jon talks about how money secrets don’t just damage your relationship - they shape your kids too. From “Don’t tell Dad, Grandma paid” to full-blown financial crises, hidden money habits can quietly (and harmfully) pass down dysfunction for generations.

Learn why financial secrecy is so devastating, how it teaches children to hide from their partners, and what it takes to break the cycle.

✈️ Thinking about a couples trip? Don’t book those flights just yet.
Jonathan Kolmetz MBA, MS, CFP® was featured in a recent MarketWatch article by Aditi Shrikant offering expert advice on how couples can avoid financial conflict before they travel. His take? Start by asking what “vacation” even means to your partner - and why.

💬 “This is a good, fun conversation to practice talking about money,” says Kolmetz. “You can practice being curious and asking questions and listening.”

You can avoid, or at least minimize, conflict by setting financial and experiential expectations. Here are three ways to do that before your vacation.

Sexual health and mental health are more connected than most people realize. Chronic stress can quietly disrupt desire, arousal, and connection in ways that affect both partners.

In her recent blog, OCA's Chelsea Koutroulis breaks down how stress impacts the sexual response cycle.

If you’ve ever felt “off” sexually during a stressful season (or if your partner has), this might be a must-read.

💳 Featured in Bankrate, financial therapist & CFP Jonathan Kolmetz explains why credit cards can lead to overspending - and why it’s not just about money.

“Credit cards hijack your brain’s pain system,” Kolmetz says. “The swipe distances you from the cost, and that disconnect makes it easier to spend.”

In the article, he unpacks how emotional triggers like FOMO, gamification, and the illusion of rewards keep people swiping - even into debt.

📲 Read the full piece at link below to understand how behavioral psychology plays a bigger role in your spending than you think.
