Obesity-
A disorder involving excessive body fat that increases the risk of health problems.
Obesity often results from taking in more calories than are burned by exercise and normal daily activities.
Day-to-day problems related to obesity include:
* breathlessness.
* increased sweating.
* snoring.
* difficulty doing physical activity.
* often feeling very tired.
* joint and back pain.
* low confidence and self-esteem.
* feeling isolated.
People with obesity are more likely to develop a number of potentially serious health problems, including: Heart disease and strokes. Obesity makes you more likely to have high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol levels, which are risk factors for heart disease and strokes. Type 2 diabetes.
Obesity is commonly defined as having too much body mass. A BMI of 30 or higher is the usual benchmark for obesity in adults. A BMI of 40 or higher is considered severe (formerly “morbid”) obesity. Morbid Obesity is what City Feet to Beat Obesity is looking for!
