New Houston Birth Center is seeking a licensed CNM or CPM to join us!
Ohana Birth and Education Center is opening in the fall of 2016! As the origin of the name “Ohana” implies, we will embrace all who come under our care as family. This will be a haven for families seeking education and support with birth, breastfeeding, and newborn care. If you are experienced in the care of women, infants and families; enthusiastic, professional and caring, we would love to meet you! Newly licensed midwives with at least two year’s prior birth experience as a nurse or birth doula are welcomed to apply.
Why should you consider Houston? Our facility is centrally located, and within a 15-minute drive of downtown, the Galleria, the artsy Heights area, and the Museum District. During down time, you might find a half hour drive to nearby lakes and boardwalks appealing. Houston is a great city for new businesses, and birth work is no exception. With the right team in place, the possibilities are endless for promoting wellness for families, and enjoying a fulfilling and rewarding life in the process!
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a caseload of clients
• Educate clients/families through prenatal and postpartum visits
• Perform physical exams and interpret medical history
• Manage care based on diagnostic tests and procedures
• Attend births and all pregnancy related issues
• Maintain a professional practice and state required licensure
Qualifications:
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years documented experience caring for women through childbirth
• Graduation from an accredited school of midwifery
• Current license as a CPM or CNM
