Nike tried it in 2004… Altius perfected it in 2025

Most people don’t know this, but tinted sports lenses aren’t new. Back in 2004 Nike launched MaxSight, which was a monthly tinted contact lens for athletes. The idea was great, but the timing wasn’t. MaxSight starter kits were bundled with a cleaning solution that was later recalled for safety reasons. The solution was the issue, not the lens technology itself!
