Haven't updated on Lily cause she had been doing pretty good. A few weeks ago she had an episode in the middle of the night. I heard her choking so I went running in her room. She was unconscious choking on vomit. I didn't see any convulsing but she was unconscious. We (her neurologist and me) think that it was still a sezuire. So trying to ween her off that one med back in June/July didn't work.☹ They are not putting her on that one again but they increased her 💊Keppra dosage. So theres no chance of her getting off of any seziure meds anytime soon. 🥴🤷🏼‍♀️ The Neurologist said that her balance was getting better. She wanted to take her off the med that helps her balance. I was a bit nervous about taking her off that one. I was afraid she might regress if I took her off to soon. So I chose to keep her on it for now. She is still doesn't have very good coordination. Also she said during the test they did that she is showing motor atrophy with every movement again. They are not going to do an MRI just yet it may have been that night time sezuire she had it may not get any worse with the seziures controlled with meds. 🙏Praying it doesn't get any worse.

She still needs to gain weight. She was drinking nutritional drinks for a while. The appetite stimulate she is on stopped working like it was. She hadn't drank any of the drinks for a while. They increased the appetite stimulate. She started drinking the drinks better now again. Hopefully she will gain weight. 👍🏻

I was talking to someone the other day and it made me realize that I haven't really explained what is going on with Lily. So in this post I'm going to try to explain what is going on and little better.

Everyone knows she has epilepsy/sezuires so I'm not going to go into that. Next is ataxia. Ataxia is damage to the cerebellum. On Lily's MRI she had some degeneration on her cerebellum. On her second MRI it hadn't changed so it is stable right now. Since it didn't get any worse they think it was a result of a seziure. This damage caused her to have poor balance and an impared gait not sure exactly how to explain this other than her brain does not communicate with her feet. So when shes walking she is just guessing where to put her feet. To add to all this she has pressure palsy due to the deletion on chromosome17. This causes nerve weakness, pain she has episodes where she completly loses feeling in her legs mostly but it happens to other muscles too. Its uncontrollable and can happen at any time. This and ataxia causes her to walk/move really fast. It seems good but it is not...This doesn't allow her muscles to work hard enough to get any stronger. So she is kinda stuck where we are at if she doesn't slow down. 😕 With ataxia and pressure palsy she has falling episodes also. Because of the falling episodes, nerve weakness and loss of feeling its dangerous for her to walk without help. Because of muscle weakness/spasms she wears a diaper. Her random spasms cause her to not be able to hold her p*e in all the time. She is also autistic, she has developmental delays and sensory processing disorder due to the missing piece on chromosome 17 also. I'm not gonna go into all those they are to difficult to explain...🤷🏼‍♀️ Anyways I hope this helps everyone understand what is going on with her now. 👍🏻

Before I go I want to tell everyone that she has been ⚡seziure free since January. They do not count absent seziures those are not usually controlled with meds.🤷🏼‍♀️ Anyways they reduced her 💊zonisamide (seziure med) then didn't put any refills on it. I messaged the 🧠neurologist to ask why I couldn't get a refill. She said she done with it. So Lily is completly off of one of her seziure medications!! 🙌🏻
