The second step in our Medical Billing Process is Eligibility and Benefits Verification. This is the process of confirming insurance coverage and benefit details of the patient's insurance policy.
This includes confirming network status and collecting benefit details such as copayment, coinsurance, and deductibles. We also confirm if the services to be provided will be covered by insurance to ensure payment. This process gives us an estimate of what a patient will owe which in turn allows the patient to make an informed decision regarding proceeding with treatment or not and assists in the collections process.
