July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month.
And we are in mourning once again.
The recent passing of Malcolm-Jamal Warner—a voice, a presence, a storyteller deeply rooted in Black artistry—reminds us that even our brightest lights carry burdens we may never see.
His legacy was layered with creativity, depth, and cultural impact. His loss leaves a silence that echoes in homes, hearts, and generations.
As we honor him, we must also turn inward and ask:
How are we really doing?
What grief are we carrying in silence?
Where can we rest, heal, and be held?
At Sacred Spaces and Connections, we are committed to amplifying the voices, pain, and healing of BIPOC communities—not just this month, but every day.
Because mental health is still stigmatized.
Because grief is often unspoken.
Because rest and support are still revolutionary acts.
This month, and in Malcolm’s memory, let’s honor each other by showing up fully:
For our emotions.
For our healing.
For our right to be well.
You are seen. You are sacred. You are not alone.
