I started this podcast 4 months ago as a way to de-bunk some urological myths as well as help the public, mainly men and parents of male children, to understand urologic issues.

What I specialize in is is just not common knowledge and is really a niche that is hard to to understand. I recently operated on a 60+ male who has failed 7 surgeries for his hypospadias. He is very smart and an engineer, but still has a very difficult time understanding how I move the meatus from point A to point B.

I don’t really know many surgeons who pushes the limit to try different things to bring complication rate to 0%. Statistically that would be very hard because te human body is different and everyone heals different, but being able to reduce complications by any percentage is still an improvement.

I probably only use about 30% what I learned in training and the rest are maneuvers I change based on outcomes. The definition of insanity is doing the same stuff over and over and expecting a different result. I don’t change techniques based on one outcome that I am not satisfied with. It Hass to be multiple outcomes with similar patients before I will change a technique. This will eliminate “bias”, meaning I really need to make sure it’s not patient factor that led to the results. I did not want to get around this I have to compare outcomes based on similar comorbidities.

Also I can’t thank enough for Alex Guyer. She is not my employee, but is a certified assistant, who works for a surgical assistant company that we just contract with so that she is available on all of my surgeries. I don’t operate when Alex is not available. She is wicked, smart, and I have been blessed that the company dedicates Alex to assisting me with all my surgeries. What makes her different from other surgical assistant, and I have worked with multiple surgical assistant, and she is amazing. She knows what I need, makes the case, more efficient and streamline, because she knows exactly how I do things. But what makes her different, because I have works with a lot of good surgical assistant, Alex, not only sis, but gives advice on what she thinks can be done better. I’m not one of those surgeons that think I know it all. I incorporate a lot of her recommendations based on a sound approach. I have worked with her for a year and a half and my complication rates is very low and I have no doubt it Hass to do with the techniques as well as keeping up with “ off the shelf products” that will decrease narcotic use, shorten the pain during recovery, leads to a quicker recovery, a better anatomical and functional outcome.

The podcast is a way for me to escape the wild and busy lifestyle I have. It is a few hours that allows me to escape my busy schedule. Although I don’t produce the show, but I am the host of the show and is a really fun for me.

The episode about the holiday blues was just released and I think you will enjoy the episode because it really emphasize what the holiday season was really meant to be and it has turned into a material driven holiday and not a memory driven Holiday anymore and I think distress really can affect a guys testosterone levels.

I can relate because 2023 has been both an exciting stressful year. A few months ago, I started to feel tired, lazy, and just not motivated to do the things normally love which is Gym, spending time with the kids, and focusing on things that really matters. I think, for everyone who is feeling the “Holiday Blues” this podcast or you can watch it on the YouTube channel put in perspective what the holiday really is about and it has morphed into something that it shouldn’t be.

I think this episode would really help a lot of people get back to the holidays is really all about and it’s not about material things but it’s really about the memories that you create from it.

2023 is about to come to an end and 2024 will be the year when my partners and I will be able to move into our flagship clinic. I can’t wait because I have a feeling we will get the greenlight with the permitting process soon. The construction team and the project manager are ready to go. I’m just grateful to have good people around me in 2023. That’s the the year that I was able to re-organize to be surrounded by the right people. Too many people are blinded by money and they lose sight of why we even wanted a flagship clinic. I’m just so glad that that is behind me, the partner was bought out and it’s only left with partners who truly believe in why we even did this.

I hope all my family, friends, and people I don’t know, who follow me a very happy holiday, merry Christmas, and a happy new year.

And I will leave with this : Always be remembered for what you did, and what you have. in the end, when all is said and done, if you take my advice, I promise you will have touched the lives of many people will mean more to them than what you will ever imagine.
