Dr. Lapuerta received his undergraduate degree at Stanford University before going on to University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. From there he completed his residency in general surgery at St. John Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, and followed that by completing a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston.
