Last month, Texas Hearing Institute was proud to be represented at the EHDI Conference, where our team shared research focused on improving early hearing detection and intervention for children.
Our audiology and education teams presented on how newborn hearing screening protocols impact diagnosis outcomes, highlighting the importance of consistent screening methods and timely follow-up care.
Dr. Sarah McAlexander and Belen Ramirez presented on strategies to reduce loss to follow-up after newborn hearing screenings, highlighting the critical role of early diagnosis and timely intervention. Their session explored real-world solutions like bilingual patient support, caregiver education, and expanding access through remote ABR programs to reach families in underserved communities.
Preschool Teacher of the Deaf Bre’Anne White, presented on Strengthening the Home to School Connection Through Reflective Coaching Conversations. Her session focused on how reflective practice helps professionals build meaningful partnerships with families and respond to their diverse needs in high-quality, family-centered intervention.
Opportunities like this help us continue advancing care, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring more children have access to sound when it matters most.
