Dr. Jeff Jones, a former U.S. Navy aviator and NASA physician, was diagnosed with prostate cancer after a routine checkup detected a rising prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level, which can signal signs of cancer. After a positive biopsy, his role changed from healer to survivor.

Dr. Michael Coburn served as the keynote speaker at the Huffington Department of Education, Innovation, and Technology’s Inaugural Fall Showcase of Educational Scholarship.

The event highlighted educational scholarship and innovations across the BCM community and featured Dr. Coburn’s keynote address, “The History of the Academy of Distinguished Educators.”

Big congratulations to David Hinojosa-Gonzalez, MD (PGY3)!

He has been selected as one of only three recipients nationwide for the prestigious 2025–26 Residency Research Award from the AUA. This $10,000 grant provides urology residents with research training to enable them to build momentum toward a career that includes research.
