Mrs. Habtestsion has been with Treemont Healthcare Center for 15 years and each day she walks in with her best smile and can do attitude. Her passion speaks through the care she pours into our residents. We are so lucky to have a member like Mrs. Roma on our team. Thank you for all you do.

Is Depression Part of the Aging Process? Although depression occurs all too often among seniors, it is not a normal aspect of aging. Recognizing the risk factors for depression is essential in providing effective treatment. Depression is more than just feeling down – it is a serious, but treatable mood disorder. Older adults who experience depression often do not show the same symptoms as younger people. For instance, many older people may complain of fatigue or seem irritable rather than seeming or feeling sad. Depression may also be mistaken for Alzheimer’s disease or other cognitive disorders.

If you feel like depression is an issue, speak up. With the proper treatment, many people, including seniors, experience significant improvement.

It is only right that we congratulate one of our best LVNs, Bernadette Jackson, not only for May's Employee of the Month but we also would like send a Happy Nurses Week! We know how challenging the role of a nurse can be, but you would never know when it comes to Ms. Jackson. She is always on her "A Game". She's an expert nurse who is strict by the book and always goes above and beyond for our residents. Treemont Health Care Center is honored to have a dedicated nurse like Bernadette.
