Story time.. Let’s just say it’s way overdo!

Sometimes I get so caught up in everyday life that I forget to stop and breathe, focus on the beauty and smell the beautiful flowers around me.

With that being said it never cease to amaze me how powerful women beings are. We help create a child, grow a child, bring forth a child, nourish a child, comfort a child and most importantly love a child more than life itself.

It’s no different with my mama right here she fought a good fight, stood on business and most of all showed up for herself and baby. Dad was there every step of the way and this is why I love what I Doul-aaaaaa!

It’s storytime!!
I had the honor of supporting a mother through a challenging and emotional time in her life. She made the incredibly selfless decision to bless another family with her precious baby. It was a beautiful and incredibly difficult journey to be a part of.

Even though the physical aspect of the birth was smooth, the emotional and mental toll it took on me was significant. I found myself becoming more emotionally attached to the situation than I had expected. It made me realize how easy it is to take on burdens that aren’t ours to carry.

My role was to provide support and a sense of love, but I found myself taking on more than I should have. It was a powerful lesson for me to learn to set boundaries within myself and take care of my own well-being while supporting others.

As a doula, I feel privileged to walk alongside these incredible women and families, meeting them where they are and offering the support they need.

Women truly are warriors, and it’s an honor to be able to play a part in their journeys. I’m so passionate about what I do-ula, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to touch the lives of those I work with.

Storytime:
One thing I know for certain is that one size does not fit all and that as individuals we should be treated and supported accordingly.

I had the pleasure of supporting this rock-star mom throughout her pregnancy and birth, she had to be induced at 37 weeks, and therefore she was in labor for 3 1/2 days… And let me just say she did it.

I loved how mom advocated for herself and stuck up for herself when some mishaps happened with hospital staff. Let’s just say that mom wasn’t afraid to use the B.R.A.I.N acronym
What are the Benefits?
What are the Risks?
What are the Alternatives?
What does my Intuition say?
What if I do Nothing at all or Not Right Now?
Because she used her voice there were hospital staff who said she was declining or refusing medical care or suggestions (which was not true at all. She listened to all their suggestions and asked questions-they just didn’t like that).

At the end of it all a beautiful baby girl arrived vaginally, mom came out intact, and the postpartum phase has been going well.

Remember hospital policy is not law, and you should always ask questions and be informed correctly…And NOT just be told it’s hospital policy!

Appreciation post…
I love when memories come up or clients share moments between us.
