We are thrilled to share some exciting news with all of you! Back in February 2025, PCCA partnered with UT NCPA to host our very first CASE Day competition. The event was a fantastic success, with thirteen teams showcasing their skills and competing to solve a challenging patient case.

After an intense competition, the two finalist teams were invited to PCCA in Houston, TX for the final round. They were tasked with compounding two specific formulas and judged on various criteria, including handwashing techniques, compounding methods, and the final dosage forms they produced. The teams consisted of Cristhy Herrera and Albert Ruiz from UT Austin, and Kadi Woods from the University of North Texas and Khanh Nguyen from the University of Houston.

It was an incredible learning experience for all involved, and we are pleased to announce that the winners of our first UT NCPA-PCCA CASE Day Competition are Cristhy Herrera and Albert Ruiz from The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy! Both teams did an outstanding job, and we are proud of their achievements.

Congratulations to Cristhy and Albert on their well-deserved victory!

Last school visit of the semester! Thankful for the opportunity to speak to Lipscomb’s NCPA Chapter yesterday! Such a lovely group of students! Excited that several approached me about joining us at PCCA classes this summer. Ambitious students who are constantly seeking out new opportunities to learn always make my day! Hard to believe I was in Washington, D.C. just last week visiting with Howard University’s NCPA chapter. Loved the energy and excitement that this group brought - hardworking students that are motivated to make change and get involved. Thank you and the chapter for the hospitality!
