Summer Skin Care 101: Protect + Hydrate🦋
Let’s talk summer skin!! We all want that glow, but healthy skin in the heat takes a little extra care.
🦋Reapply Your Sunscreen🦋
It is ESSENTIAL to reapply your SPF every two hours, especially if you’re sweating or in the water. Even water-resistant formulas lose their strength over time, so keep your SPF nearby and use it 🧡
🦋Drink Plenty of Water🦋
Hydration starts from the inside out! When you’re not drinking enough water, your skin can show it (dryness, dullness, excess oil, etc) so be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day!
🦋Hydration Isn’t Seasonal🦋
In the summer, reach for a hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture without clogging pores. Don’t skin your moisturizer!! Substitute with a lightweight formula instead!
✨Want to give your skin some extra love? Book a hydrating facial or skin treatment like a HydraFacial or Cryoboost to restore and refresh from the inside out.
🦋Check the UV Index🦋
The UV index tells you how strong the sun’s rays are on any given day. The higher the number, the higher your risk for sun damage!! On those high UV days, it’s smart to limit direct sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you’re outside, layer on protection with:
☀️ SPF 30 or higher, reapply often
👒 Cover up with hats, sunglasses, and UV-protective clothing.
🦋Sun Protection Goes Beyond Your Face🦋
SPF isn’t just for your cheeks. Make sure you’re applying sunscreen to all the areas that get exposed (your ears, neck, chest, shoulders, hands, feet, scalp, and even the backs of your knees) Don’t forget an SPF lip balm either!! A wide-brimmed hat, UV-blocking sunglasses, and a little shade when possible go a long way in keeping your skin safe and glowing.
Skincare in the summer is all about being intentional. A little daily effort goes a long way, and your skin will absolutely feel the difference 🧡
T or F: You only need to apply sunscreen when you’re spending a long time outside or going to the beach.
