I’m only sharing this is hopes to inspire or motivate someone to never give up on your dreams. Was it easy? No! Am I glad I stuck with it? Yes! Long days and sleepless nights. I’m not gonna sit here and say I didn’t give up because I did plenty of times I kept saying “maybe this is not for me. I know plenty of other jobs that make the same as a nurse.” Trying to talk myself out of what I really wanted to do. Even when I thought I would just throw in the towel and quit I started to fight again. Some people want to be a nurse for the money. But it shouldn’t be about that. In order to be a good nurse you have to have compassion for human life. People give CNAs such a hard time but some of the best nurses are built from CNAs. People think all they do is clean p**p all day but it’s more than that. A CNA is the most valuable member of your team. I salute all CNAs because you are overworked, overlooked and underpaid. If you think being a nurse is glorious well it’s not what you think. Occasionally a good nurse is still gonna clean p**p, vomit, and whatever else may come out of one of them holes. You have to console the family when Moma or daddy die. What if it’s a child who dies on your shift? How do you handle that? I’m not saying it’s not all that because If you ask me I’m gonna tell you being a nurse is the best job in the world. If you really want to do it don’t give up fight remember it’s not gonna always be easy but it’s gonna be worth it. It took me a very long time to get here. Endless hours of studying. Getting up at 4 am going to clinicals to work for free for 12 hours Raising two kids one in high school. Driving a hour to class everyday all while planning a wedding. But at the end I can say I did it. I’m a big procrastinator so if I can do it you can do it too. All I had to my story 👩🏾‍🎓👩🏾‍⚕️💉💊
