Jesse Jackson.

He didn’t just speak. He shifted systems.

He organized when doors were locked.
He negotiated when voices were ignored.
He ran for President when America said it wasn’t time.

And by doing that, he stretched the imagination of what was possible for Black people in this country.

He built platforms like Operation PUSH and the Rainbow Coalition to demand economic access, political inclusion, and corporate accountability.
He stood in rooms we weren’t invited into- and made sure we were never excluded again.

He made power uncomfortable.
He made hope practical.
He made ambition contagious.

Because of him, the ceiling cracked a little wider.
Because of him, some of us stopped asking “Can we?” and started saying “We will.”

Now that’s legacy.

Some people think loneliness only shows up late at night. Like pain clocks in after midnight.

But that’s not how this works.

Loneliness can hit at 2;30 PM on a Friday.
In a full room.
In a full house.
With a full calendar.
With people who love you.

You can be surrounded and still feel invisible.
Breathing and still feel tired of breathing.
Alive and still wondering if staying is worth it.

If that’s you right now, hear me clearly:

You are not weak.
You are not dramatic.
You are not a burden.

You are human.

And the urge to disappear is not a character flaw - it’s a signal that you’re hurting and need support, not silence.

Isolation will lie to you and tell you no one wants to hear your pain.
That is the depression talking.
Not the truth.

Someone needs you here—even if you can’t see it yet.
Even if you don’t feel like you need yourself right now.

You don’t have to handle life alone.
That was never the assignment.

What do I tell my child about what they are seeing right now?

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵.

Silence is not protection. It is confusion.
Kids are watching, even when we think they are not.

And if you do not explain it, they will still feel it.
Our job is not to hide the world from our children.

It is to help them understand it safely, honestly, and with support.

That is how we raise grounded adults in an imperfect world.

For some, New Year’s Eve is not celebration.
It is survival.

Recent allegations against a few pro athletes have sparked endless debate - but here’s the truth: before we rush to criticize, we need to understand what addiction really is.

It’s not about bad choices. It’s not about willpower.
It’s a brain disorder.

And let me be clear - I’m not excusing the behavior that comes with addiction.

But if we don’t educate ourselves, we’ll keep judging what we should be understanding.

Because that’s the only way we can help people heal, not hide.

A proud, tax-paying member of the 18th Congressional District of Texas.

And guess what?
We have no representation.

Taxed without a voice.

Sentence: “If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t be out here preaching false medical claims about it.”

Let’s be real—there is no clinical study proving acetaminophen causes autism, ADHD, or learning differences. None. Zero. Zilch.

So stop turning tweets into truth and TikToks into treatment plans. Kids’ lives are not your experiment.

If you want facts? Ask the people who actually trained for decades. Ask the ones who know. Ask me.

🌿 Sometimes the best gift you can give yourself isn’t saved for the weekend.....

It’s a midweek escape. Affordable. Simple. Life-giving.

We forget that rest isn’t earned - it’s necessary. You don’t have to wait until everything on your to-do list is crossed off before you breathe. You don’t have to prove your productivity before you deserve peace.

This trip? Just me, myself, and God’s masterpiece. No phone. No emails. No deadlines chasing me down. Just stillness, fresh air, and the kind of silence that speaks louder than any meeting ever could. ✨

Midweek travels remind me that self-care is not selfish - it’s stewardship. It’s tending to the soul, not just the schedule. And when I return, I’m not just “back at work.” I’m renewed. Re-centered. Ready.

Don’t wait for the weekend. Don’t wait for permission. Choose yourself! Because God already did. 🌸
