Surgical scars are inevitable regardless of closure technique. My recommendation is similar to American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), avoid sun exposure, moisturize, apply silicone sheets (Oleeva Silicone), hydrate 8 oz/hour, 100 grams of protein per day, limit your activity to prevent open wounds, and use antibiotics if prescribed by your board certified plastic surgeon.
