Who doesn't like a good ol' bake sale?

Now for something completely different...
Buy your chance now to win unique creations by Houston's top pastry chefs! Phoenicia, Paulie's, Uchi, Underbelly and other illustrious Houston restaurants have each devised a special treat just for this event - and this is your only chance to taste them!

The concept is simple - All items for sale are GREY in color (with some being thematically tied to mental illness/depression) and with the purpose to raise awareness of mental health issues! Everyone involved is trying to lift the stigma of those that suffer from depression.

You don't need to be present to win. Winners who do not attend the event will be notified once by phone and must pick up their prize by 7PM on Monday September 29, 2014 at the Montrose Center.
In addition to the raffled treats, enjoy complimentary lite bites at the event and available-to-purchase baked goods from Houston's top bakers.

100% OF THE PROCEEDS will go to the Montrose Center - empowering Houston's LGBT community to live healthier, more fulfilling lives since 1978 with a range of professional mental health services, plus HIV, anti-violence, youth and senior programs.

Great job by jodycakes Custom Cakes & Cupcakes for creating this event.

Houston's OpenCoffee Club is now the SLGT Coffee* Club! We've changed our name to represent a renewed focus on building a community of entrepreneurs, investors, and techies interested in supporting our local businesses and economy. Our monthly events are informal meet-ups to network and connect while discussing the constantly changing Houston landscape. Support Local - Grow Together. !

*This group is not about coffee. We drink coffee to stimulate the conversation and the coffee shop that we meet at is a great venue for having conversations. We kindly ask that if you are a coffee vendor that you do not try to sell your coffee at this event.

Dearest 'ers,

So many of you give to the community and support our local businesses, farmers, artists, and nonprofits. One of our fellow local small business owners lost everything she had in a fire last night. You might know jodycakes Custom Cakes & Cupcakes, because Jody, the owner, has supported our community for many many years. She is always giving and never asking for anything in return. He recent charity she did with The Depressed Cake Shop - Houston, TX was able to help for a good cause. We ask you to please take a moment and check out his page, https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/4qk4/we-love-you-jodycakes-?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=fb_share_send&utm_campaign=receipt_t1&og_action=hug&t=3&fb_ref=2209412, to see if you are able to help out. Jody is a very strong woman and we know she'll power through this, but anything y'all can do to help would very grateful.

Thank you so much,

Staff at WeSLGT.

For those of you looking to help Jody in the wake of losing her home & belongings to a fire, please feel free to express your support here.
