Join fellow Harris County Medical Society Alliance members for a festive volunteer event sure to get you in the holiday spirit! In collaboration with other community volunteers, we will help Alliance member Lindsay Mericli, co-chair of book procurement for the event, assemble more than 5,000 books into bags to be gifted to children in need for the holidays. Volunteers will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at Bellaire United Methodist Church, 4417 Bellaire Blvd., in Bellaire.



Since 1980, Christian Community Service Center (CCSC) has spread Christmas cheer through Jingle Bell Express. This year's program will assist 2,500 children during a drive-thru community event where registered children ages newborn through 15 will receive toys and books, as well as a grocery gift card for their families.

What a great time in Houston last night to build awareness of the alliance! The Harris County Medical Society and Alliance brought members of the local Family of Medicine together at Porsche West Houston for the networking event. TMAA President Elizabeth Vanexan and TMAA President-Elect Jenny Shepherd mingled with guests that included long-time Harris alliance members, as well as new and potential members. Exciting to see momentum building for the Harris alliance.

Tip Tuesdays!
Life is about growth - both visible and invisible. It isn't until the green shoot of a new plant is visible that we stop to say "Look! It's growing!" Of course we can celebrate that milestone of seeing our efforts coming to fruition but let's not forget the importance of what happens beneath the surface before and after that first sign appears. Identify and celebrate your invisible growth too!
