FUT hair transplants can leave large and unsightly scars (which is why we prefer not to do them). This patient had multiple FUT procedures that left large areas of the back of his scalp with scars and no hair. He also needed a revision of his prior transplants to add density to the hairline and front of his scalp. We used our FUE device to punch holes in the old scar to debunk it. We then sutured over the old scar to bring the tissue together, almost like squeezing a sponge. Finally we placed about 70 grafts in the widest portion of the scar, which was too broad to reduce with sutures. The last picture was taken 1 week later after removing the sutures. There is a small area of skin glue lifting in the center of the scar. Such is helping hold the grafts in place. The patient will now be able to wear his hair short in the back, without it showing the scar.
