HCMS member physician Madhureeta Achari, MD, hosted her first Hard Hats for Little Heads event in January. The Houston neurologist gave free helmets to children in her community. Last year, Texas physicians, county medical societies, and TMA Alliance members distributed 9,578 helmets. A properly fitting helmet can prevent head injuries – up to 85%.

The Harris County Medical Society (HCMS), is offering a free orientation to physicians and their staff to ensure that everyone at the practice is aware of the many resources offered by HCMS and TMA to enhance practice operations. The next virtual meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. There are two time slots to choose from, 12:15 - 1 pm or 4 - 4:45 pm.
