Walk and Talks are walking psychotherapy sessions with one of our licensed psychotherapists. Mental and physical health are intertwined. Movement makes us feel better. Therapy makes us feel better. Trees and nature make us feel better. Walk and talks emphasize the mind-body connection while incorporating the beauty of nature. Getting in daily exercise while also completing a therapy session is a great option for saving time as well. Walk before or after work or during a lunch break.

Earth day is another great reason to celebrate nature! Walk and Talks incorporates the health benefits the earth offers through nature into every session. Although we can not presently walk with clients, we hope you are walking outside with loved ones and enjoying the sunshine! 🌞Walking in nature IS therapeutic as we enjoy & appreciate our earth . 🌍

As we adjust to less time in nature, less time interacting socially, and less time exercising, many of us will experience varying levels of sadness, depression &/or anxiety. Although Walk & Talks sessions must cease during social distancing, self care must continue! 🌞Here are a few wellness tips for extended time in the *not always so great* indoors:
1. Begin each day with a gratitude list.
2. Flip each negative thought. For example, when you can’t take one more minute with your family, remember all of the times you felt sad about not having enough time together.
3. Exercise for at least 30 min a day. Dancing is always a great option for the whole family!
4. Plan each day in advance.
5. Get creative making meals with ingredients at hand. Plan menus for the future & make meal prep a family affair.
6. Limit social media & news. Both can steal peace & happiness in a split second but rarely is information personally relevant.
7. Read, craft, build, paint, & hobby away!
8. Do what β€œDuolingo” says & quickly learn a new language!
9. Organize closets, yards, cabinets, etc...
10.Meditate &/or do yoga daily. If you pray, that counts as positive meditation! Be disciplined with positive self talk. This is all going to run it’s course so appreciate the positive side of quality time centering in your life, an opportunity we rarely receive. 🌞
