It’s official. Yesterday I graduated from the MIT Executive MBA.
When I began this journey, a friend and alumna told me, “It will change your life.” She was right!
Over the past two years, between early flights, late nights, and demanding coursework, I learned to see my work in a new way. I came to MIT to learn how to translate ideas into meaningful impact, for my patients and for the future of surgical innovation. I leave with far more than I expected.
One of the greatest gifts of this experience was sharing it with my son, who is also a student at MIT. To walk the same campus at the same time, in very different chapters of our lives, is something I will always treasure.
I arrived to the program expecting to learn from extraordinary faculty and classmates. What I did not expect was to find such a remarkable community, and friendships I know will last a lifetime.
At the commencement, Lisa Su reminded us to “run toward the hardest problems,” because “hard problems really teach you what you’re capable of.” That message resonated deeply, because running toward hard problems is exactly what brought me to MIT.
I am grateful for the journey, the people, and the lessons. And I cannot wait to put all of it to work.
Thank you, MIT. You changed the way I see the world.
