Potty training is a body skill, not just a behavior.
Most children show readiness between 18 months and 3 years, but studies show starting before true readiness can delay success. Toileting requires body awareness, core strength, balance, motor planning, and sensory processing.
If your child struggles with constipation, frequent accidents, or resisting the toilet, it may be a regulation or sensory issue, not stubbornness.
