Cow Cuddling Lets People Relax With Help of Friendly Bovines
ACA member “Doc” Warren Corson III was recently quoted in a piece for TODAY on the therapeutic benefits of cow cuddling, a practice in which people spend time embracing, brushing and talking to cows.
"It will not replace traditional therapy and it's not designed to. But a lot of people, we've lost connection to nature and there's a need for touch," said Corson, director of the Community Counseling Centers of Central Connecticut.
Corson, an LPC with a nonprofit practice and therapeutic farm in Connecticut, is an ACA blogger and a former columnist for CT Online.
A counseling license doesn't inoculate practitioners against wrestling with "what if" thinking, struggling with problems in their home life and personal relationships, or experiencing some of the same hardships that they help clients walk through.
