A Journey to China

This month, our residents traveled across the globe—without ever leaving home. Through Passport to Adventure, we explored the beauty of China through immersive education, traditional music, and rich, flavorful cuisine that delighted the senses.

From learning about history and culture to savoring inspired dishes and enjoying music that told a story, this experience was about more than travel—it was about connection, curiosity, and joy at every age.

What better way to spend an afternoon than relaxing in our lovely library with a good book. We noticed one of our Army Veterans, Mr. Bill, enjoying The Road to Unafraid by Jeff Struecker, a powerful true story written by a former U.S. Army Ranger. The book shares firsthand experiences from intense military missions, including the Battle of Mogadishu, and reflects on courage, resilience, and life beyond service.

Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to connect residents with stories that speak to their own life experiences.

We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing afternoon celebrating National Jigsaw Puzzle Day with several puzzles going at once throughout the room. It was especially exciting to see three of our newest residents join in, fitting right in as pieces (and friendships) came together.

There’s something so satisfying about working side by side, watching the picture slowly take shape—and of course, sharing that big smile when the final piece clicks into place. A simple activity, a peaceful afternoon, and a lot of happy moments.

Our resident Ms. Margarita enjoyed a peaceful afternoon of creativity in the activity room, thoughtfully arranging flowers one stem at a time. With beautiful music filling the room from our record player, she selected each bloom with purpose and care.

A lovely reminder that creativity, calm moments, and simple joys make our community feel like home.

This week, we celebrate Activity Professionals in preparation for Activities Professional Week next week and the incredible people who bring energy, creativity, and purpose to everyday life in our communities.

Our activity and life enrichment professionals do more than plan events. They create connection, spark joy, and design meaningful moments that help our residents Live Life Well, every single day.

One example is having a Mixology Club. By adding favorite spices and flavors residents and members can create the perfect signature drink to celebrate any occasion.
