Happy Sunday! 🌿
Rest isn’t lazy, it’s release. Each pause is an act of letting go, a gentle permission to breathe, restore, and reconnect with yourself. Today, invite stillness, honor your body, and allow yourself the freedom to simply be.

What is your rest liberating you from today?

When I first heard Judith Lasater say, “The practice is not about touching your toes, it’s about what you learn on the way down,” it truly resonated with me as a yoga instructor. 🌿

At Find Your Balance Yoga, I see this truth unfold in every class; it’s never about how deep you go into a pose, but how deeply you connect with yourself along the way. 💛

Each breath, each pause, and each gentle movement is an invitation to listen, soften, and grow — at your own pace, in your own way.

What Trauma-Informed Yoga Really Means:

At Find Your Balance Yoga with Nat, every class begins with safety, agency, and choice. Trauma-informed yoga isn’t about “fixing” or “pushing.”

It’s about guiding you back into your own rhythm through breath, awareness, and movement that honors how your body feels today.

Safety & Grounding: Move, pause, or rest in ways that feel supportive.
Choice & Agency: Every pose is your invitation — skip, modify, or rest. 🌿 Connection & Awareness: Focus on presence, not perfection.
Empowerment Over Performance: Healing doesn’t have to hurt; rest is resilience.

Start your week grounded in breath.
Each inhale is a quiet invitation to restore.
Each exhale, a gentle release of what no longer serves you.
Your breath is your anchor, always available, always enough.
Come back home to yourself, one mindful moment at a time. 💛

Today marks the main day of Diwali.

Today, many across the world celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

A time to honor the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over fear.
Homes and hearts are illuminated with diyas (lamps), color, connection, and care. All reminders that light is both around us and within us.

For those who celebrate, may your days be filled with peace, renewal, and gentle joy.

And for those of us learning:
May we hold space to listen, honor, and celebrate the beauty in traditions that center community, gratitude, and light.

May your path be bright, your rest sacred, and your heart open to shared humanity.

With love + respect,
Find Your Balance Yoga with Nat

Both Warrior I and High Lunge are powerful yoga poses that enhance strength, flexibility, and balance, yet they serve different purposes. Warrior I focuses on grounding and stability, with the feet firmly planted on the ground, ensuring strong leg engagement. The chest is lifted, and the arms extend upward to increase the stretch through the entire body. It’s a great pose for building endurance and mental focus.

In contrast, the High Lunge provides more mobility and engages the core differently. With the back foot lifted, the emphasis is on balance and flexibility. The knee is bent at 90 degrees, and the heel is elevated, creating a deeper stretch and enhancing the flow of energy throughout the body. Both poses target the legs and core but activate different muscles and require different levels of flexibility.

Incorporating both Warrior I and High Lunge into your practice can give you the best of both worlds. Warrior I is perfect for grounding, while High Lunge encourages fluid movement and balance. Together, they help to build strength, improve flexibility, and enhance your overall yoga practice. 💪🦵
