Founded in 1995 by a group of NTID alumni, the event quickly grew into a hub for connection and community. Following in their footsteps, we launched DPHH Houston in 2003, creating a space for local Deaf professionals to network and thrive. Over time, we realized our community needed more than just a happy hour. Our vision expanded to include all walks of life—from kids to adults, professionals to families. That’s why Houston Deaf Network was created: to serve as a central hub for resources, connections, and opportunities within the Houston Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Today, we aim to bring together information, education, social events, entertainment, career opportunities, and more—all in one place. From articles and resources to activities like DPHH, ASL socials, Deaf Chat Coffee, Deaf Paws, and Deaf sports, we strive to keep our community connected and growing. If you’d like to get involved and contribute, please reach out, and we’ll connect with you as soon as possible. Together, we can continue building a stronger, more connected Deaf community in Houston.
