Dr. Warren Ellsworth is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery serving the greater Houston and Katy areas. A native Houstonian, Dr. Ellsworth has a unique and fitting background for his career in plastic surgery. While he always called Houston home, Dr. Ellsworth grew up and attended school in many of the world’s major cities including Paris, London and Berlin. After graduating with Highest Honors from Lamar High School here in Houston, Dr. Ellsworth attended the University of Virginia where he was named an Echols Scholar (one of 30 students chosen for this prestigious award). He was awarded his undergraduate degree with Distinction from the University of Virginia and was one of few students chosen to complete advanced studies at the world-famous University of Oxford in England. Dr. Ellsworth returned to Houston where he completed his Medical Degree at the Baylor College of Medicine. DeBakey Department of Surgery and Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency at the Baylor College of Medicine, one of the top programs in Plastic Surgery in the United States. Dr. Ellsworth trained in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, including institutions such as M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke’s and Texas Children’s Hospital. Through these diverse programs Dr. Ellsworth gained extensive experience in the newest techniques in breast reconstruction, microsurgery and cosmetic surgery. After an extensive written and oral examination process, Dr. Ellsworth scored in the top of the nation and is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Although Dr. Ellsworth enjoys the full spectrum of plastic surgery, he has extensive education in microsurgical breast reconstruction, such as the DIEP flap, as well as body contouring after massive weight loss and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Ellsworth is currently on staff with the Institute of Reconstructive Surgery and Department of Surgery at The Methodist Hospital and also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

🎉We have some exciting news to share!!!

After a lengthy application and interview process, Dr. Warren Ellsworth was elected to become the next Board Vice President of Health Policy & Advocacy for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons!! This is a tremendous opportunity and honor, where he will lead the advocacy arm of the largest organization of plastic surgeons worldwide, with over 11,000 members!

In this national leadership role, Dr. Ellsworth aims to protect patients’ rights, access to care, and support plastic surgeons across the country. One important initiative to him personally is the 2025 update to the Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 – which he hopes to help push to the finish line this term! These advocacy efforts are critical to afford woman access to ALL types of breast reconstruction.

Dr. Ellsworth shares, “I am moved by the opportunity to serve in this Board Vice Presidency position. Advocacy has been a passion of mine for years, and I am honored to be selected in this leadership role, and I look forward to fighting the good fight for our patients and plastic surgeons alike!”

This lovely patient came to us after her 50lb weight loss. Her hard work left her with unwanted hanging skin. Just 4 weeks out and she is looking and feeling fabulous! She still has a lot of swelling which is completely normal for many months post abdominoplasty.

From being one of the first physicians when our Hospital broke ground in Katy to becoming Medical Director of Plastic Surgery at Houston Methodist West, Dr. Ellsworth has devoted his career to caring for breast cancer patients, and those seeking reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. He is not only a talented physician, surgeon, and microsurgeon, but a respected leader in our office and community. He demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence in every aspect of his work, always putting patients and their health first. Dr. Ellsworth is deeply engaged in advancing the field through his active participation and numerous professional Plastic Surgery societies where he serves in leadership and advocacy roles.

Today’s celebration was especially meaningful as original members of the OR team who also started at Houston Methodist West right alongside him, were also honored for 15+ years of service. Happy belated Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there 💐

It was such an honor to be invited on the field at the Houston Astros 🧡⚾️💙Breast Cancer Awareness game!! Being on the big screen as they introduced me and my work in breast reconstruction was a surreal experience - thank you to and the for choosing me for this great honor!!!

Dr. Arentz threw out the first pitch and I received an honorary engraved bat

The best part was seeing the excitement of my oldest two kiddos on the field. Don’t worry, the baby made up for it with a sweet treat 🍨
