Meet The Doctor:
Dr. Megan Watier grew up just outside of Fort Worth, Texas and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Addictions from University of North Texas. Upon graduation she found herself working at a chiropractic clinic and falling in love with the profession due to her personal testimony, as well as the innumerable patients who encountered healing the two years she
was in the office. Dr. Megan received her Doctorate in Chiropractic and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Chiropractic College. During her career at TCC she began pursuing her CACCP (Certified by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics) through the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association). She has successfully completed the required 14 classes including but not limited to, perinatal care with advanced Webster Technique, developmental neurobiology, neuroimmunology, evaluation and adjusting protocols for primary spinal and cranial subluxation patterns, the essentials of chiropractic care for children, and family nutrition: epigenetics and parental health and nutrition for the perinatal period. In addition to pregnancy and pediatric training, she is also certified in the Graston Technique®. This is an innovative, evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to detect and effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions, as well as maintain optimal range of motion. Athletes of all ages and post-surgical patients have experienced amazing results with Graston when coupled with chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Megan will be traveling in the next few months to obtain her advanced proficiency certification in the Activator Method®. This is one of the most widely researched chiropractic techniques with clinical trials to support its efficacy. The hand-held mechanical instrument provides a quick, low-force impulse at specific points. This technique can be benefit all age ranges from newborns to the elderly. Her passion for health started at an early age, but she wasn’t sure how she was going to make a difference in other peoples’ lives until chiropractic literally changed her life. For twelve years she suffered daily with migraine headaches and relied heavily on medications. By restoring her quality of life with her new chiropractic lifestyle the headaches cease to exist. This is what fuels her passion. Though her main focus is to provide care for prenatal, and postnatal care for women, and pediatrics, she still thoroughly enjoys serving the entire community. She loves seeing families thrive in good health by applying the chiropractic principle to their every day life. Chiropractic care during pregnancy can help align the pelvis by working on the bony structures, muscles, and ligaments to assist the baby by getting into the correct position for labor and delivery. Research has shown this has helped decrease labor time, inductions, and medical interventions. These safe and gentle techniques can help ease and prevent back and sciatic pain that occasionally comes with pregnancy. We also offer other services that can help, including kinesio tape to help support growing bellies. After your sweet bundle of love is born, it’s imperative to get your spine checked due to the physical and emotional stress that takes place during the labor process and delivery. Chiropractic care for pediatrics can begin as soon as they are born. The vast majority of natural childbirths with no medical intervention can still produce newborns with spinal misalignments. Through milestones such as holding their head up, rolling over, tummy time, changing diapers, crawling, falls, and walking there are many possibilities of spinal misalignments. These misalignments can sometimes attribute to colic, ear infections, failure to thrive, breastfeeding complications, asthma, allergies, eczema, or learning disabilities. Chiropractic care for anyone can begin today! It’s never too late to be checked and get adjusted so that your body and nervous system can start functioning closer to optimal health!

Webster Technique
During pregnancy the female body is changing due to adaptations from the increase of hormones, weight gain and postural changes on the spine, joints, muscles, and ligaments. Pregnant mothers have a greater chance of sacral (tailbone) misalignments and neuro-biomechanical imbalances than the general population. Additionally, because of the effect the chiropractic adjustment has on all body functions by reducing nervous system stress, pregnant mothers commonly have significant benefit by having their spines checked regularly throughout pregnancy, optimizing health benefits for both the mother and baby. Webster Technique is a safe, gentle, and specific adjustment for expecting mothers. This adjustment can assist in shifting the pelvic girdle so the baby has room to turn head down. The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction and uterine dystocia. In so doing this the neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is improved. The restoration of pelvic neuro-biomechanics with this adjustment also frequently facilitates optimal fetal positioning for labor and delivery. Dr. Watier will take gentle care of you at this special time in your life. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out at drmeganwatier@gmail.com
