The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a volunteer organization of dedicated, well-trained healthcare and non-healthcare professionals who respond to meet medical needs in times of disasters or public health crisis. Medical Reserve Corps volunteers also contribute their skills and expertise throughout the year by participating in community events. Values

* Community: All disasters are local and volun

teers are needed to pull the community back together after a disaster.

* Preparedness: Training to prepare volunteers for all hazards. Volunteers should have personal or family preparedness plans in place to protect their loved ones while they respond.

* Training: Adequate training enables volunteers to respond and act safely during a disaster.

* Collaboration: No one agency or group can work effectively alone; we must work with a broad spectrum of other organizations and agencies for the greater good of the community.
