We age in all of our layers. I always say this. If you want to look natural with cosmetic treatments, it’s important to understand the natural causes of aging. Treating the skin is THE MOST important layer.

We lose collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid from our skin as we age. 1% of collagen is lost for every year after age 20. After menopause? An additional 30% is lost.

The more you bank your collagen while you still have it, the more you can afford to lose. When you lose too much, there’s nothing you can do to bring it back. Preserve and boost your collagen while you still have it.

Can you guess what areas I injected on this lovely patient? Besides lips.. of course- they’re swollen and they will always swell immediately after injection.

We did cheeks, tear trough, lips and some fine lines on the lower face/chin area. I did NOT treat her nasolabial folds. Those improved solely by treating the cheeks. 👩🏻

She had a lip block (which I highly advise) so she did not feel a thing during the lip injection. But for this reason her lips are forcefully closed and shifted in the after as she cannot feel her lips. This resolves as the numbing wears off a couple hours afterwards but so worth it to do the lip block! 💉

Swelling in the lips goes down fully after about two weeks and will be slightly plump but more so just hydrated 👄
