Get ready for Part 2 of "Hands Up with Brown," featuring my dear friend and mentor, Dr. Napoleon Higgins, Jr.! Napoleon was one of the first Black male psychiatrists I met, and he gave me priceless advice when I was interviewing in Houston.
Dr. Higgins is a powerhouse in the mental health field. Heโs the CEO of Bay Pointe Behavioral Health and South East Houston Research Group, Medical Director at Hold My Hand Residential Treatment Center, and a staff psychiatrist at Prairie View A&M University. With a focus on personalized care, Dr. Higgins treats mental health through a holistic approach, incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, behavioral training, and nutrition. Heโs dedicated to improving the overall well-being of his patients, helping many manage conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol through lifestyle changes.
Dr. Higgins is also an accomplished author, with books like Transition to Practice, which guides doctors on job negotiations, and Mind Matters: A Resource Guide to Psychiatry for Black Communities. Heโs a former president of the Black Psychiatrists of America and a strong advocate for mentoring inner-city youth and addressing trauma and racism within minority communities.
Join us LIVE TOMORROW Tuesday, October 22, at 6:30 pm CST to hear from Dr. Higgins and dive deep into his impactful work and journey. This is your chance to learn from one of the best - don't miss it!
