So I unboxed my new Aria scale today and have now realized my weight is up 10 pounds from my goal mostly due to increased snacking, less activity and a wonky scale that was not giving me an accurate weight. Unfortunately for those of us trying to maintain weight with lifestyle modifications constant vigilance is in order. I am just a few pounds from overweight and am going to get back to basics of what works for me. The scale is an invaluable tool for those overcoming obesity

Going to start adding some cocoa powder to my coffee 😋. A couple of years ago I had the privilege of visiting with the Bri Bri tribe and seeing how they process cocoa beans in their traditional manner. The natural chocolate was served with banana so no refined sugar was needed. The bananas can grow along side the cacao plants and provide shade. The chocolate is full of flavinoids that support human health. Plants and animals evolved in symbiosis and mesoamerican societies have been cultivating cacao for milenia. Evidence in Ecuador indicates it was cultivated there 5400 years ago and spread later to Central America and Mexico
