Nathan Morelli PT, DPT, PhD
Nathan Morelli, PT, DPT, PhD is Senior Manager of Digital Health Technology Innovation at Amgen, where he advances the use of AI and digital technologies to improve evidence generation and patient-centered research & outcomes. A clinician-scientist with training in physical therapy and neuroscience, his scholarship has focused on the use of digital health technologies to advance clinical decision making and uncovering biomarkers. Before his current role, Dr. Morelli served as an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience in Physical Therapy and later as a Principal Clinical Scientist in Deep Brain Stimulation at Medtronic, bridging academic rigor with regulated clinical technologies. He is committed to fit-for-purpose innovation that augments therapist expertise, reduces administrative burden, and safeguards patient safety.
Harichandra Vennelakanti, PT, DPT, M.S
Hari Vennelakanti is a seasoned physical therapist recognized for his expertise in rehabilitative care across diverse clinical environments, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, and acute care. Currently practicing at the NCI designated Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Care Outpatient Building at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, Hari brings a multifaceted skill set encompassing patient assessment, individualized treatment planning, and collaborative multidisciplinary care. He holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Utica College, New York, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Health Informatics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. His academic background also includes a Master’s degree in Safety (Occupational Safety and Emergency Management) from the University of Tennessee, a certificate in Gerontology, and credentials in Hospital Administration from a leading institution in India.
Specializing as a certified lymphedema and wound therapist and compression specialist, Hari has played pivotal roles in workflow development for Electronic Medical Records (EMR), therapy program management. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in emergency management and presented at international conferences. Currently, he serves as a peer reviewer for BMJ Digital Health and AI Journal and the AMIA Annual Conference 2025. In October 2025, he presented at the Ethics and AI Symposium held at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX. His work has explored topics such as the role of AI in personal nutrition using large language models and optimizing clinical dashboards . He has also delivered guest lectures for Doctor of Physical Therapy students at UT Southwestern Medical Center School of Health Professions, focusing on Iinformatics and Oncology Rehabilitation.He has also conducted international workshops for Lymphedema management for head and neck cancer survivors.
His leadership and innovative contributions have been recognized through multiple awards at UTSW AI Challenges and digital health hackathons, including those hosted by the Cancer Informatics Society, Health Universe, MIT COVID‑19 Turn the Tide Challenge, and Hacking Dermatology.
