if i could sit with 30-year-old me
i’d look her in the eyes,
hug her tight,
and tell her she’s doing an amazing job.
i’d tell her to stop chasing perfection
and focus on being present.
i’d remind her that her body will change
and that’s part of the initiation
into the wise, soulful, grounded auntie-tía she’s becoming.
i’d let her know
she knows her body better than anyone…
just because they went to med school
doesn’t mean they know her.
i’d encourage her to learn how to let go
of everything because grief will become a familiar companion.
and i’d tell her that
this next phase of life
isn’t something to fear
but something to embrace
and explore
with deep curiosity.
and if you’re in this phase too
here’s what i want you to know:
it’s not the end
it’s the portal.
luv u.
