Carlos Vital, MD, FACAAI, is a renowned physician specializing in Adult & Pediatric Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, with a distinguished career in medicine, medical education, healthcare policy, and legislation. A 1991 graduate of St. Augustine High School, Dr. Vital served as Drum Major of the Marching 100 during his senior year, demonstrating leadership early in life.
He pursued his Bachelor of Science at Xavier University of Louisiana, followed by earning his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. His postdoctoral training includes residencies in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics and Allergy & Immunology at LSU Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Vital is board-certified in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M School of Medicine. He has been recognized locally, regionally, and nationally for his contributions to healthcare policy, medical education, and community outreach.
Notably, Dr. Vital served as a National Medical Policy Adviser to President Barack Obama and was appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott as a Board Member for the Texas Health Services Authority. Dr. Vital has been featured on the Discovery Channel Profiles Series, served as a Presenting Sponsor for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, and was honored as Physician Champion for Allergy & Immunology at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Texas Medical Center.
He is currently on the medical staff of Memorial Hermann Southeast, St. Joseph Medical Center, and The Methodist Hospital of Houston and Sugar Land, where he continues to advance patient care and medical innovation.
