My name is Bianca Doyle, founder here of Golden Touch MSP.
First off, MSP stand for Maternal Support Practitioner.
I am a wife, mother of 4, doula & midwifery student.
I began this journey, unknowingly, almost 8 years ago when I became pregnant with our 1st baby. During that pregnancy I spent months researching all things pregnancy, birth, postpartum & baby. I went into that birth thinking I knew enough about it all & thought I had the right support/birth team to come out of that experience happy & empowered. I had prepared my birth plan, I wanted to stay on plan as much as I could, then when the time came I realized I didn’t have the proper birth team to help me achieve my goal of a peaceful & intimate birth experience. As I entered this experience it quickly went down hill, in my opinion, based on how I knew I wanted it to go. I didn’t realize it at the time, but in the postpartum period I became even more educated. I spent those next months researching everything I had just experienced to see what my options actually were, rather than what they made me think my options were, along with what informed consent really is.
So there I was with my new baby researching & actually planning my next birth based off my previous experience. With every moment that passed during that research my eyes were opened to the role a doula plays in these beautiful moments. Who knew such a role existed? This was life changing for me. I turned my birth trauma into something worthwhile.
When we had our 2nd baby we had her at home with a midwife & a doula. When I brought our new baby up out of the water onto my chest, all on my own, I immediately knew 1) I wanted to have this beautiful experience again & 2) I belong in the birthing world in some way. I knew in that moment that everyone deserves to be given the proper knowledge on their choices, to be heard, to be cared for & to be empowered by their baby’s birth just as I had been this time! I wasn’t sure at that point what my role would be in this world because I wasn’t confident in anything at this point. Instead of diving in prematurely I gave it some more time for myself to gain even more knowledge, but more importantly confidence.
After that we went on to have 2 more homebirths and they were both just as empowering. After each of these births I have grown so much emotionally, physically, & educationally. I have also gained a great understanding of the care that should go into a person’s pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. Once we had our 4th baby something clicked internally & I followed that instinct to start my certification process & start my doula business right then . I knew at this time that being a doula was the way I wanted & needed to go because 1) the need for them in my area has grown 2) Everyone deserves educational & unbiased support 3) Personalized care during this vulnerable time 4) For myself this is where my comfort level is heightened. Where I am confident I thrive, which is a huge plus for myself & my clients. Though it was not the plan, along with diving head 1st into doula work, my path & heart has lead me to begin my journey as a midwife/midwife student, as well. I look forward to all of the knowledge I will gain throughout this journey, but mostly I am excited to share that with my clients.
I offer many different types of resources & information for my clients such as a local library geared towards birth, local birth photographers, local birth videographers, local midwives, local parenting classes, childbirth education classes, lists of local caregivers based of a family’s specific need & more. I am here to help you work through the preparation of your upcoming birth, provide physical & emotional support throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery & the postpartum period as the family processes their experience. My goal is to empower families, to give them the knowledge they need to properly give informed consent & to understand all the different types of birth & to help them grow strong enough in their journey to no longer need me.
I am currently certifying in Maternal Support with Bebo Mia and in Childbirth Education with Birth Arts International. These programs have already given me so much knowledge & I am excited to finish these programs to have those certifications to my name.
I look forward to meeting new families & I am honored to be given the opportunity to guide families through these intimate moments. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
I am here to service the Houston area.
