π₯ She Beat Breast Cancer & Ditched Her Implants π₯
My courageous patient in her 50s was diagnosed with LEFT breast cancer 10 years ago. At that time, she underwent bilateral mastectomies followed by implant-based breast reconstruction with fat grafting. Years later, she came back to see me because she wanted something different β she wanted her implants removed and her breasts reconstructed using her OWN tissue ππ
To achieve this, we performed a DIEP flap reconstruction (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator flap) β a highly specialized microsurgical technique that uses skin and fat from the lower abdomen to create soft, natural breasts without using implants β¨
During her first stage surgery:
βοΈ Breast implants were removed
βοΈ Natural breast reconstruction was performed using her belly tissue
βοΈ Her abdomen was contoured at the same time
During her second-stage revision surgery:
βοΈ Excess skin was removed
βοΈ Additional fat grafting was performed
βοΈ Liposuction was used to further improve the contour and shape of both her breasts and body
π Here she is only ONE WEEK post-op! You can already see the beautiful, natural contour of her breasts β made entirely from her own tissue β along with her slimmer, more sculpted waistline π₯
She now has:
β¨ NO implants remaining
β¨ A completely natural reconstruction
β¨ Beautiful body contouring from her own tissue transfer
She will continue wearing her compression garments as healing progresses and plans for ni**le reconstruction in 3β4 months after her breasts settle π
π Pre-op Stats:
Height: 5β2β
Weight: 181 lbs
BMI: 33.1
Pre-op Bra Size: Full D Cup
β¨ Breast reconstruction is about so much more than appearance β itβs about healing, confidence, femininity, and feeling whole again π
