GIVE THEM SHELTER! IT'S THE TEXAS WAY!

With the passing of the Safe Outdoor Dog Act, adequate shelter for your animals is required under state law. The shelter must protect a dog from inclement weather, including rain, hail, sleet, snow, high winds, and extreme temperatures.

With a heat wave sweeping Texas throughout the week, we wanted to remind our neighbors of the importance of this law. Temperatures are expected to soar to record highs, with parts of Texas being hotter than Death Valley or the Sahara Desert this week.

Simply put, if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them. Please, bring them inside. In these temps, animals can quickly succumb. This is about saving lives. Do your part. Protect your pet.

16,000 dogs. Gone. Lost to the barbaric practice of dog fighting in the US annually. This has to stop.

This staggering number exemplifies the ever-urgent need for awareness, reporting, and action. This brutal reality persists, fueled by silence and inaction. We must break the cycle. It will take a cultural shift in both our communities, and at a national level.

Suspect it? Report it!

And for those who are domesticated, entrusted to our care.

Shield them from harm in the face of the raging fires.
Guide them to safety, to shelter, and to the waters that give life.
