Today, El Centro de Corazón celebrated a successful Back to School event!
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors for making this possible: ABB, Community Health Choice, Baylor College of Medicine, The Gonzalez Law Group, PLLC, Comerica Bank, SESCO Cement, HCA Healthcare, University of Houston, and i3 Strategy Partners.

St. Austin Center Back-to-School Event
The event took place today at the San Austin Center, where families received backpacks filled with school supplies to help prepare students for the upcoming school year.
The HIV team was on-site providing free HIV testing and offering educational outreach on HIV prevention and overall health. We also shared information about services offered by El Centro de Corazón, including:
Medical services
Dental care
Behavioral health support
Free immunizations and resource information were also made available to the community during the event.

Today, Friday, August 1st, the amazing staff from El Centro de Corazón – Team partnered with The Gonzalez Law Group, PLLC to stuff 1,000 backpacks for our upcoming Back-to-School event! Thanks to the generous donation of backpacks and school supplies from the Gonzalez Group, today’s event was a big success.

Serving Houston’s East End community since 1994, El Centro de Corazón (El Centro) is an accomplished Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with four health center locations and offers a comprehensive range of pediatric and adult health care services for the medically underserved and uninsured, which includes primary care, women’s health, dental care, and behavioral health services. El Centro also provides ancillary services, such as case management and eligibility assistance, to help patients and their families overcome obstacles to accessing health care services.
