Yesterday, El Centro de Corazón was honored to participate as an exhibitor at the Power of One: Trust & Transparency in Research & Health Care event hosted by UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

It was an incredible experience connecting with community members, healthcare leaders, researchers, and organizations all committed to improving health outcomes and building trust within our communities.

The event featured powerful conversations and educational topics focused on research, healthcare access, transparency, and community engagement. We are proud to stand alongside organizations working to create healthier futures for all.

Thank you to MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Center for Community-Engaged Translational Research for hosting such an impactful event and for allowing El Centro de Corazón to be part of it.

What an amazing Saturday at the Día de la Mujer Latina 30th Anniversary Health Fiesta & Houston Latina Expo! 🎉💜

This incredible event brought the community together to provide free health services and important wellness resources for families across Houston. Attendees had access to:
✅ Clinical Breast Exams
✅ Cervical Cancer Screenings
✅ Blood Pressure Screenings
✅ Diabetes Screenings
✅ Vision Screenings
✅ HIV/STD Screenings
✅ Cholesterol Screenings

We are proud that El Centro de Corazón was one of the sponsors of this great event. Our staff was honored to be there sharing information about the many services and programs we provide to support our community’s health and well-being.

We were also honored to welcome CouncilMember, District I Joaquin Martinez, who stopped by the El Centro de Corazón table and personally thanked our team for all the work we do to serve our community. His support and recognition mean so much as we continue our mission of providing quality healthcare and resources to Houston families.

A huge congratulations and thank you to Venus Ginés and the entire Día de la Mujer Latina team for 30 years of dedication, advocacy, and service to the Latino community. 👏

I’m honored to share that El Centro de Corazón received a beautiful plaque at AAMA’s Día del Niño event. On behalf of our organization, Community Engagement Manager Obed Canjura accepted this recognition, representing the work we do every day in our community.

El Centro de Corazón was also proud to serve as one of the sponsors of this wonderful event. Receiving this recognition was a truly meaningful and humbling moment.

We are grateful for opportunities to support our community and collaborate with partners who share the same commitment. A special thank you to AAMA and Adriana Dibello Avon for the recognition and for hosting such a meaningful celebration.

It was great to see so many partners present, including Council Member Joaquin Martinez, Alan Velazquez with. Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Ramiro Fonseca with the Tejano Center, and Fit Houston.
