ANNA is pleased to announce on February 3rd, 2026, The Honor Our Living Donors (HOLD) Act was signed into law.

The HOLD Act removes income-based eligibility restrictions and bases reimbursement on the donor’s own financial circumstances. This change helps ensure that more living donors can access available support, regardless of the recipient’s income.

This policy update has the potential to benefit millions of Americans living with chronic kidney disease, including the more than 800,000 individuals with kidney failure who may rely on transplantation as a treatment option.

Dear ANNA Gulf Coast Members,

On March 5, 2026, we had a terrific time coming together to learn more about Vafseo (Vadadustat) and its investigational three-times-weekly dosing for patients receiving in-center hemodialysis. The session provided valuable insights into the potential role of vadadustat in anemia management, the rationale behind the three-times-weekly dosing schedule, and key clinical considerations for our dialysis population.

We are especially grateful to our vendor, Akebia Therapeutics, for supporting this educational program, and to our speaker, Cortny Anderson, PharmD, BCPS, Senior Medical Liaison, for delivering such an informative and engaging presentation. Their time, expertise, and partnership helped make this event a great success.

Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the discussion. We look forward to seeing you at our future ANNA Gulf Coast events.
