Hello, my name is Jed. I was found on September 9th, 2025, next door to VCRC. I had a collar but no tags or microchip. I am 1 to 1-1/2y years old and heartworm negative. I am a very sweet, calm, and happy-loving boy. I know how to sit and love being around people who show me love and affection. I am great with other dogs. I am not sure about cats and want to chase them, but I won’t hurt them.
Currently, he needs to be neutered and vaccinated. He is looking for his furever home. Do you or someone you know like to adopt or foster? He is scheduled to go to the Houston Humane Society on October 28, 2025.

June 15, 2010 - August 5,2025
Drew was brought to us when he was almost 4 months old by Golden Beginnings Rescue. He had a protazoal parasite called Neospora canis which caused spinal cord damage. His mother was a carrier and passed it on to him. Multiple people and veterinarians thought maybe he should be euthanized but he was too happy and not painful so Golden Beginnings volunteers got him and brought him to us to see if we could get him walking. He figured out on his own how to get up and walk! We helped him get stronger and of course adopted him. He came to work with us most of the time and thought he was the clinic greeter. He made it to his 15th birthday in July. He never thought he was handicapped.
Drew taught us so much and was the happiest, sweetest and smartest dog I have ever had.
He will be missed. 💔💔💔
