If your insurance company sends you a letter saying your current plan (or a similar one) isn’t available next year, the Marketplace will automatically match you with an alternate plan.

But here’s the key: during Open Enrollment, take time to update your Marketplace application and review all available plans — you might find better coverage or savings waiting for you.

When asked if you’re losing coverage, be sure to note that your plan ends on December 31.
