Eating disorders are complex… but treatment doesn’t have to be confusing.

There are evidence-based approaches that work—and knowing what to look for can make all the difference.

In ’s latest blog, she breaks down:
• What “evidence-based treatment” actually means
• Why some approaches can unintentionally delay recovery
• The most effective treatments (CBT-E, FBT, CBT-AR, and more)
• How to choose the right fit based on age, diagnosis, and needs

Because recovery isn’t about finding a perfect solution; it’s about finding the right support.

If you or someone you love is struggling, this is an important place to start.

Most people think they understand OCD.
They don’t.

Last night, we had the honor of sponsoring a private screening of An Unquiet Mind at a , hosted at the Wilhelmina Cullen Robertson Auditorium, to promote awareness of OCD.

Our clinician, Bailey Grunder, LPC-A, attended the screening and experienced what so many in the room felt. A powerful, emotional evening that ended in a standing ovation. 👏🏾 👏🏼👏🏽

This was more than a screening.

It brought together clinicians, advocates, filmmakers, nonprofit leaders, and community members for connection, film, and moderated conversation centered on mental health, lived experience, and access to care.

Bailey was deeply moved, noting that everyone should see the film.

The film challenges one of the most harmful misconceptions about OCD.

OCD is not a quirky personality trait.
It is not about being neat.
It is not about liking things a certain way.

For a long time, OCD has been reduced to stereotypes like handwashing or checking. But there is an entire side of OCD that is far less visible and far less understood.

An Unquiet Mind follows the stories of individuals living with forms of OCD that people are often afraid to talk about. Intrusive, unwanted thoughts related to harm, postpartum fears, and other taboo themes that can feel terrifying and isolating.

Not because people want these thoughts.
But because OCD targets what matters most.

The misunderstanding of these experiences has created a culture of silence and shame.

This film breaks that silence.

By bringing these stories into the open, it builds understanding, invites empathy, and reminds people that they are not alone in something that can feel incredibly isolating.

And this is where real change begins.

Less stigma.
More honest conversations.
More people getting the help they actually need.

As clinicians, this is why we do what we do. OCD is highly treatable. And no one should have to suffer in silence from something so deeply misunderstood.

We are incredibly grateful to have supported this work and to be part of a community pushing these conversations forward.

Big emotions aren’t the problem.
Getting stuck in them is.

What we want for our kids and teens isn’t “less emotion”…
it’s more flexibility.

In her latest blog, Carla Wall, LPC-A breaks down how CBT helps kids and teens:
• Understand what they’re feeling (instead of being overwhelmed by it)
• Shift unhelpful thoughts
• Build real coping skills they can use in everyday life
• Learn they can handle discomfort without avoiding it

This is how confidence grows. This is how resilience is built.

If your child is struggling with anxiety, big reactions, or getting stuck, this is a great place to start.

As we head into the end of the school year, we’re seeing this everywhere—kids navigating new schools, summer plans, changing routines… and parents are feeling it too.

In this month’s newsletter, Ivy Ruths, Ph.D. is sharing:
• why anxiety tends to spike during transitions
• how it shows up across different ages
• what actually helps (and what doesn’t)
• and a very real glimpse into what this season looks like for families

If your child has been more irritable, clingy, or overwhelmed lately… this is for you.

It goes out this Wednesday 4/15 —join before it lands in inboxes.

Eating disorders rarely exist in isolation.

They often develop alongside anxiety disorders, depression, or substance use. In fact, anxiety disorders are one of the most common co-occurring conditions we see in both adolescents and adults struggling with eating concerns.

When we only treat the food behaviors and ignore the underlying anxiety, perfectionism, fear, or need for control, recovery becomes harder to sustain.

This National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we are proud to partner with to highlight the full picture. Understanding how anxiety and eating disorders intersect helps reduce stigma and leads to more effective, evidence-based care.

Healing is possible. And treating the whole person matters.

Eating disorders show up in ways that are easy to miss or easy to minimize.

It is not always dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like skipping meals.
Canceling plans.
Constant thoughts about food or body.
Feeling out of control around eating.
Or physical symptoms that do not fully make sense.

Eating disorders affect children, teens, and adults across genders, body sizes, and backgrounds. And they are treatable.

This National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we are proud to partner with to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and remind you:

Healing is possible. With the right support, recovery is real.

If you are concerned about yourself or your child, do not wait. Early support matters.

Eating disorders don’t discriminate.

They affect children, teens, adults. Boys and girls. Athletes. High achievers. Quiet perfectionists. People you would never guess are struggling.

This National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, we’re joining to remind our community that eating disorders impact 1 in 10 Americans — and stigma often keeps people suffering in silence.

At , we see how intertwined eating disorders and anxiety can be. And we also see this every day: with the right support and evidence-based treatment, recovery is absolutely possible.

Let’s keep talking.
Let’s challenge stereotypes.
Let’s make it easier to ask for help.
