Could insulin resistance be the reason why you can’t lose weight despite dieting?
Our body weight is regulated by a complex balance of hormones, and it is when this system is not working correctly, that we gain weight.
But, most diet strategies completely ignore this connection, and ignore our metabolic health, and 95% of diets fail. 🤷♀️
In order to lose weight permanently, you must first aim to improve your metabolic and nutritional health, and you must target the root hormonal and emotional reasons that are keeping you from losing weight!!
But keep in mind, so much of the information on social media about reversing insulin resistance is completely misleading! 😡
Even though low carb, high protein, high fat diets (keto like diets) can work in the short term to decrease insulin and blood sugar levels, this type of eating strategy is highly inflammatory, and does not address the root drivers of insulin resistance (including inflammation, microbiome health, lipotoxicity). Not only that but this type of eating plan can actually increase your risk for heart attacks and stroke in the long term. 😩
